Hi all,
i need a tough ,heavy duty compass for scribing purposes. I intend to use it to cut out a circular area around a TOS Enterprise bridge in order to use a drop in replacement I've made on Shapeways. Anyway, the compasses I currently own are great for light scribing, but not for serious scribing and cutting. Any suggestions on a tough, hard core replacement?
Many thanks,
Robert

What about a compass cutter, like these here ones?

Would something like that do?

tough compass
I used something like that to scribe the rings in the lower portion of primary hull. It is a large set of drafting dividers. If you keep scribing it will work it's way through the plastic.
Be grateful for your blessings...
Not sure if this would work for what you need, but I've been drooling over a Veritas Beam Compass like the one show on this page (8th item down):

I really needed one of these for a project I was working on, but had to make do with a really generic version from the big box hardware stores. Oh well.
