Best flat finish yet!

For shiitakkes and grins, I picked up a bottle of Microflat at the local Hobbytown last week. I finally got to use some yesterday.

I AM A HAPPY GUY!!! Dead flat, not the slightest hint of sheen. My only complaint is the little bottle it comes in.

Why am I using anything else? :?

How about more information? Link? Manufacturer? Type, as in lacquer, enamel, acrylic?

I too would love to know more as to where I can get this Microflat. I guess Google to the rescue since you're not ponying up on the product info. :?

So how did you do at Google? I've looked twice for this on Google, and I'm quite good at coaxing things out of the search engine, but I didn't find this product.

Well heck-fire.... why didn't he say "Microscale Microflat" in the first place? I think everyone knows about this one. And no, it's not the best thing since sliced bread. It's OK, but not all that.

Yeah, I Googled and came up bunk, no such thing.

Microscale Microflat, worth a shot and probably better then the Testors stuff that seems to be the only thing around these days. :?

Alclad II Klear Kote Flat is also pretty awesome. I just used it and not only is it dead flat it really helped hide the decal edges.

I get great results with PolyScale acrylic flat.

I can't find Polly Scale around here. Guess I'll have to place an order with Model Expo or Micro Mark.

The best flat finish I've found so far is Rustoleum Painters Touch Frosted Glass. Dead flat finish with no hazing or discoloring of the paint below.

I prefer a clear coat that won't kill me. Not fond of spraying 50% toluene around.

I still try not to spray model cement around, might get in my eye...

Be careful----the new Pollyscale is MM Acryl. :(

Last year I bought every old bottle of Polly S flat that my local store had.

As I was paying for it, he said: "Well that's the last of the good stuff..." :wink:
