how can i make a strobe light for a star ship?

with out buying an exensive kit, i was hoping theres a way to make one flash quick every two seconds for a defiant class star ship.

Buy a flashing LED and hook it up in series with the other running lights. You will have to put it on a separate circuit, because it will dim other lights, even in parallel, if you hook it in to the main circuit. But it is the poor-man's way to do formation strobes.

Thanks I'll go around tomorrow if not Monday and after looking on YouTube, I lt looks like the nav lights stay on and th white lights on top strobe

You can also check out model train electronics. They have strobes for engines. You can swap out the LED, and run fiber optics to the spots you need.
