How best to use Tamiya's Weather Set D
Has anyone used any of Tamiya's weathering sets? I've picked up this set and I experimented just a little on a scrap piece of plastic. I must be doing something wrong, because using the provided applicator I am seeing nothing. is this a product best used with water, mineral spirits or what?

They work better on a matte painted surface and they are subtle. You have to scrub and build up the color. This unfortunately destroys the little applicator they give you, BUT you can buy these applicators by the bag at the beauty supply isles. They are just eyeliner applicators and I had my wife pick some up for me.
The advantage of these is they have a built in adhesive, but will wear off with enough handling. They are good for subtle drybrushing effects, but I find paint is better in come circumstances.
I want to try the MiG weathering powders someday, but they ain't cheap.

I see they worked better with a wet applicator when used on a scrap piece of plastic. Almost at a point where I will be using this set on my first build. Have to spray the Glosscote next.
