Sotar 20 20 question

Post by starmanmm »

I have one, still in the box with all the directions. There are two needles in the kit; both with black end caps. Nowhere can I find out what the needle size is.

Any thoughts?

Look on the end of the needle and see if it has a part number. I do know that the mediaum needles in those things have a white endcap; it is also known as the "2" needle, with "1" being the fine and "3" being the large.

The manual indicates the needles are one of three possibilities:

Here's a link comaring several brands with two of the Sotars at the top:

I hope this maybe helps a bit.

Thanks Kenny, you have the same info as I have.

I think I'll just reach out to badger and see what I get for a response.

Whatever I get, I'll post it here.

Badger supports these airbrushes (http://www.badgerairbrush.com/Sotar_20-20.asp). From the Badger site (needles/tips):

Fine (Black) - "Hair" line to 3/4" (19mm) spray pattern
Medium (White ) - Pen line to 1" (25mm) spray pattern
Large (Clear - Pencil line to 1-1/4" (31mm) spray pattern

I seem to have read that the Sotar fine needle is 0.1mm in diameter, but I cannot remember where I read that.

So if this is a fine, that I have, I must be using it wrong. ](*,)

Once again... Thanks!!

You can find it by clicking on "Products" tab then on the "Airbrushes", then "Sotar 20/20" (first on the list).

If you click on "Pricelist" on the Badger home page, you will find a order form with all the prices including parts. The parts listing is separate from the airbrush listing so you will need to scroll down past it.
