It just arrived this afternoon, and I've been working on it for a couple hours.
Here's what arrived.
The fuselage:

Parts I have plans to use:

Parts I don't plan to use:

Work so far:

I'm planning to have a set of wings connecting the nacelles to the piece I've added on top of the fuselage, and a wing connecting the nacelles underneath. This should make the rear part bulkier and more balanced with the front part. I'm going to make coamings to enclose the excellent cockpit tub, and I'm considering extending the fuselage sides down so the the underside of the fuselage becomes part of a bomb/cargo bay. I'm replacing the control services on the canards so they can be positioned separately by whoever finishes the model.
The nacelle front and rear pieces are excellent; what were the yellow and blue pieces before they became engines for this thing?

I think I'm nearly done. I still want to scribe a nose gear door, add something to the rear underside, and maybe close up that fan on the top.

I've built access panels with internal bracing for the open engine bay as well.
I done know if I'll install the engine and nacelle caps that are already built or leave that for the next builder. Speaking of which, who wants to be next up?

I was just about to cut a hole for a stand, and then it occurred to me that an open engine cowling sort of implies IT'S ON THE GROUND. But at least it was better than realizing this after the dremel had gone to work.
So, tonight is nose gear and tail skids.
The good news is that, since it is on the ground, the canopy can be posed open to show off the nice interior detail that came with it.
I want to do a few more details and then clean everything up, and then it will be ready to send off in a week or ten days.
So, just let me know where she's going.

My work here is done.
I'll ship the package tomorrow and PM you the tracking.
I packed everything in layers of bubble wrap and air packs, so hopefully it will survive the trip.
This is the main assembly:

It also has front and back engine nacelle caps, exhaust nozzles, nozzle inserts, an engine insert and a frame piece for the open nacelle, three finished access panels, a canopy (that looks like it fits the cockpit opening if it is displayed open but doesn't actually), a canopy hinge assembly, detail pieces and decals for the sensor pod, and all of the unused parts that came with it, as well as a few parts I added to the collection.

Wow i fell off the modeling grid for a few months. My new classic car took all my spare time. But now that winters back so am i! Ni e to see this didn't just die off. Beautiful work Hermes. I think there's more bondo on the model now than my car. LOL
Btw Hermes, you asked what the yellow nacelle and blue end caps originally wer. They were evedently a set of kids binoculars. When i got the ship in the beginning the eye pieces were still on the back. It made it more evident.
So who has her now? M3? And hows she comming? And whens my turn? Lol

M3 what's up with the model? Or any one that has it or knows? Is it done? Has it gotten lost? Is it just sitting in a box in a dark corner somewhere all alone crying itself to sleep every night? Oops, sorry got a bit over dramstic there. But if it's not getting worked on and Is still able to be found, I'll pay shipping to me. I just want to see this through! I just want to see at least one traveling model make it to wonderfest! And I'd love it to be ours!
So let me know what's up. Thanks

Well, the short answer is: it's still sitting under the model bench. Life (read: work, personal/family issues, basement floods, etc.) meant that she never got finished, and I never got to Wonderfest this year.
However, I am still planning on getting back to her after my latest personal Scylla and Charybdis finish tossing me around, in a couple of weeks. And I am stll planning on having her ready for Wonderfest 2017, as part of the "Magic 800".
Will post pics soon.
