What's the best way . . . .

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

What's the best way . . . .

Post by Lonewolf »

. . . . to straighten out those lovely rubber-band style treads that come with most 1:35 armor kits? I'm building an old Revell Panzer 38(t) and the treads are twisted all over the place. They're all curled and rolled, with nary a straight section to them.

Any recommendations?
Captain Pike: Don't make me laugh.
Commander Burnham: Fortunately for you, I was raised on Vulcan. We don't do funny.
Captain Pike: Ha! (ouch)
Commander Burnham: Maybe I should just shut up.

Math Problem: Sam has 100 model kits, Frank takes 10 model kits ... what does Sam have?
Answer: 100 model kits and a corpse.

As with resin... Warm water. And then press them between a couple of flat heavy objects. If that's not enough, use even warmer water (as in hot, just don't use your fingers to fish them out).

I know that's not what the instructions say, but the kit's wrong anyway.

Can't help you with that one as most armor guys I know always replace the kit tracks with aftermarket ones.

Perhaps the problem you ran into is some of the reason why.

You don't think gluing them to the wheels on the kit will keep them in place? IDK.
That really was a Hattori Hanzo sword.
