Cleaning styrene parts
I'm working on a kitbash that includes both styrene kit parts and resin aftermarket pieces. I know I should clean resin parts by soaking them in comet cleaner; can I clean styrene in the same way or is it too harsh?

It should be fine as long as you're not making it too strong. I'm not even sure if you could make Comet caustic enough to do any damage. However, Comet powder contains mild abrasives which could damage the surface of styrene.
A little bit of dish detergent in warm water is fine for removing the mold release used in injection molding.
