Source for ribbed tubing?

I'm not talking about just wire wrapped with solder, btw.

I'd like to find a source for tubing or rod that has defined ribs on them, sort of like what vacuum cleaner or sump pump hose, with little ribs on them that are separated by a groove. I could use the control cables from Anakin's podracer, but they aren't thick enough for what I need. Any ideas?

I've seen guys use guitar strings before.

Never mind, that won't be thick enough. You may try threaded rod lengths from the hardware store.

^ Springs are a great way to go. Although once you reach a certain size you can more easily see the gaps that form between the wire around tighter bends.

Bass guitar strings come much thicker, for someone looking for the same look.

But yes, we need details. I've got plastic wire loom and Lego hoses sitting here, but they are very different in size.

Split loom tubing comes in several sizes. However depending on the display, the split may be seen from different angles.

It could be useful, but I find the round shoelaces can replicate that look too. The cost is roughly the same, but with shoelaces you get a whole lot more length.

Heheh, sorry. I may not be a noob, but I do get ditzy from time to time.

Length: at most about 12"

Diameter: 3/8"

Spacing of ribs: 1mm with 1mm spacing

Go down this page till you get to "hot air intake hose for the carburetor" and then follow along:

I was really hoping that someone knew a good source, and that is a really labor-intensive process (especially since I need a few feet of it!), but it does have the right look, for sure. I'd have to by a crap-ton of square rod, but it's doable.
