Washing Small Parts?

I just purchased both of the Cosmo Fleet Sets from Yamato-2199.

The kits are 1/1000 scale, and contain plenty of small parts.

Other than using a fine-mesh strainer on the drain of the sink, are their any tips for washing very small parts?

Is it best to do sub-assemblies before washing with dish soap?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Get a tea infuser (one of those metal egg-shaped things used to hold loose tea for brewing). Remove the small parts from the sprue and put them in the infuser. Dunk infuser in warm soapy water several times, then rinse under a gently running faucet or in a fresh basin of clear rinse water.

I plan on giving one of these a try soon. There are many others on the market but they'er considerably more expensive.
