Will Purple Power affect model glue?

Post by anduril »

I'm working on the 1/537 Reliant at the moment. However, I'm not happy with the paint job I've put down. I've done research into paint removers for enamel paint and decided that Purple Power will be what I use. My question is, will it harm the glue? I've used Tenax 7R by the way.

No personal experience, but it shouldn't. Tenax (and similar) work by melting the plastic together. When done properly, the two pieces essentially become one. So, the glue is not holding it together, the plastic is.

Zysurge is right.

However, PP will remove lacquer-based putties (Squadron white, auto body spot putty). And sometimes PP will affect superglue joints.
