SMD's for flood lights on refit 1:537 and 1 :350

Post by NathanJ »

Anyone have recommendations for Hull ID floods? There are so many I don't know where to begin. Is there a graphic to show you what light should be aimed where? I have a new repop 1/537 that is almost smoothed and I have two 1/350 refits (one first release from years ago) and trying to get the best ideas as far as what is out there. Thanks,
Nathan

I second what brt said above. HDA Modelworx is my favorite way to go. In fact, I had a conversation with Jerry at HDA about flood lights on the 537/350 Enterprise Refit. Here are my notes:

3050 white SMD for the forward spot floodlight
0805 warm white SMDs for the port and starboard lights on the bridge and the planetary sensor below
3020 white SMD for the forward floodlight for the planetary sensor

Jerry is frickin' cool. He's a super neat guy to talk with, loves the SF modeling hobby, and deserves your money.

HDA is also the only place I know of that has flickering SMDs. He had them custom made from his supplier and it's possible that nobody else has done the same yet.
