Attaching An SMD LED

Post by arg »

I'm looking to light my 1/350 Enterprise Refit, and wanted to use the kit's clear parts for the nav lights - they're a nice small size. I was thinking if I attach an SMD to the base of the clear plastic nav lights, the clear plastic would act as a 'light tube' to transmit the SMD lighting. I lightly sanded one of the plastic nav lights to frost it, and placing the SMD underneath it gave good results. My question is: What should I use to glue the SMD to the base of the clear plastic? Hot glue? White glue? Gel super glue? Any thoughts appreciated.
