Styrene Rod with Wire Core?

So I'm watching the latest project from Adam Savage's "Tested" channel, and he says there's such a thing as styrene rod with embedded wire.

?????????

Is this a thing I need to start fooling with? Where do I get it? I just did a 5 second web search and came up with nothing so I thought I'd ask y'all guys.

I seem to recall getting some from Plastruct yeeeeeaaaaars ago. I don't recall if I ever used it. I think I accidentally got it, but I never bent it to make railings like Adam was talking about. I feel like the styrene would crack if you did that, but I don't know.

Butyrate is a little more flexible than styrene. Still will glue with a hot acrylic glue with methylene chloride in the mix.

Bend it in hot water around forms?

You guys aren't excited like I am, so I guess it's not that big a deal.

Yeah, the two smallest sizes of Plastruct butyrate tubing aren't tubing at all, because there's wire where the hole would be. But Plastruct doesn't call them tubing, either. Maybe they found it impractical to make hollow tubing that small, so they made coated wire instead.

Evergreen round styrene tubing only goes down to 3/32" as well.

Evern if we could really thin styrene rod, it'll probably apt to start bending/curling (when we don't want it to) when exposed to a bit of heat. Plastic-coated wire would not have such a problem.
