I'm still getting 500 errors quite frequently. It's more of a hit or miss issue. If it misses I typically have to back up all the way to the initial URL req (click) rather than reload. That may probably be the browser cache, but the error itself is still the server.

Now, it's acting normally. Go figure. Have fixes been made, or should I not hold my breath..? :-k

EDIT - got an Error message when posting. :P

I haven't been able to access this site for the past week or so. I either got a page saying I think it was 500 error or the site was all jumbled up.

I've been getting that too. Just press the refresh key (F5) and it should connect eventually.

Yeah, it would take a few refreshes before loading, and then it wouldn't load fully.
Still Getting a General Error when posting.

Well, maybe back to normal as of a month ago?...when it was still kinda broken. If it's a backend problem with the machine that hosts the database itself, this may re-occur. I'll see if I get SQL error when I post this

This forum changes constantly. I've had times when I logged on with no problems, hoping it was fixed. And then went back to having to try a dozen times or more to log on, etc.

Like I suspected. It's going to be like a failing, but not totally dead hard drive. The database can't update for some reason to do notifications. Unfortunately the backend database doesn't just handle notifications, and so things like page fetching is also being affected (as I suspected when I got a fetch error SQL issue over a month ago). I'm sure we have all noticed some really slow page fetching for many months before the SQL thing started to be a regular feature. At some point this thing may very well just stop working. I'm just really concerned that it seems none of the mods have acknowledged or commented on this at all. Are people ok? Is the circle of people who actually spend time on the forum too small to notice.

I've looked to see if there have been any complaints or issues about Hostgator or PHP specifically, but I haven't found anything specific to the current time period. It does seem that whatever is going on is tied to starshipmodeler.net more specifically.

Well, I'm still waiting to get into the FB group. I guess nobody is checking that space either?

I don't know about the mods. They seem to have bailed. No notices that they are aware of the problem even though it has been going on in a steadily deteriorating state for several months.

Once they held a tight rein over the forum, locking threads that got out of hand, monitoring it regularly, responding to messages. No more of that.

I'm guessing not. There have been a couple of threads started on the Face, with no reaction other than from other users.

What the heck happened to them?
