Blue masking compound..How to remove?

I put some micro mask on a model jet to mask off some tiger stripes, then sprayed on the color. Now I can't see where the mask was on the jet. Any ideas how to remove it without poking throught the paint with a pin (and wrecking the paint)? I know I know not one of the smartest ideas ever.

how did you like working with micr mask ? i just picked up some and i have never used it. What i want it for is to mask off the very small clear panes on my polar lights jupiter 2 fusion core so i wont have to spend hours cutting tons of little squares. does this stuff work ok on clear parts with out fogging them ? does it go on clear or does it have a color to it so you can see any spots that were missed

It works great, nice sharp edges, no bleed. It's just hard to see when I started to take it off. I've only used it twice before on canopies with no problem. This is the first time I've used it on a body, but I'm impressed. I think it may just replace my masking tape. Now with the warm water trick, it's even better. It goes on with a slight blue tint, but it can be hard to see.

i want to use it for the jupiter 2 fusioncore clear part and i want to spray it to match the hull if i brushed painted the color shade would be off and i surely don't want to get any overspray on those tiny panels since they will be lit from behind.

how long after you appl it do you need to wait to paint ?

I typically wait an hour or two to trim the mask and then paint. Now, depending on what you’re masking, this stuff can be difficult to see after it dries. I thing you can do is to take a mechanical pencil and outline the outside you want to mask. That way, the windows will stand out and the pencil marks can be either washed off or painted over.

The way I've removed Micro-Mask is to place some masking tape rolled around my finger, sticky side out, and then dab the model. The masked area comes right up off the model.

One thing I've learned about the stuff is to apply it thick! If the coat is too thin, it can really get stuck in crevasses and even adhere to flat surfaces. Thicker Mask will stick to masking tape applied to pull it off.

this clear part has nice recessed square pockets so i plan on filling them up so that the silver spray paint doesn't get onto the clear panes.

After masking, is it better to air-brush or hand paint with a brush?

well i didnt apply it thick enough, i wish it had some color tint to it, it was very hard to remove and some didn't come off. so i soaked it in castrol s/c and used masking tape, 64 tiny squares
