pearlescent paint question

Post by dsscse »

I have bought white, green and blue pearlescent powder for the refit and I just want to know do you mix them with a paint (eg white gloss enamel gets the white pearlescent) or do they only do the neat stuff when mixed with a clear eg glosscote or clear gloss enamel???
I am just in hope that one of you know and can set me straight so that I can do the lady justice.
Thanks in advance

YOu can do either or both. I've done both. If you mix with gloss white - GLOSS NOT FLAT - you will get a fair amount of subdued pearl affect. If you apply with a clearcoat (you'll need to keep it stirred as the powder will sediment) you can get a pronounced affect.

I think you should do these exact experiments and report your findings to the class!
