Ok, so I'm putting together some MaK miniatures for wargaming but I'd like to be able to give them good paint jobs and some good weathering and I'm trying to decide how to do that.
The big thing is that they're going to have some high traffic, meaning people will have their grubby paws all over them quite a bit so I'm trying to decide on some techniques for weathering that can take all the handling.

The clearcoat and primer coats are your biggest concerns. Everything between is up to you. Something like a Gunze 500 rattlecan or other sandable primer will give the most "grab" for paints. After you're done painting, a few good clearcoats should help a lot. I prefer Future, but I'm accustomed to acrylics.
You can dullcoat after that if needed - but the gloss will be easier to clean.
