Hard to repaint a vinyl toy?

Post by unimatrixzer0 »

Is it hard to have a vinyl toy figure repainted?

This isn't the figure, but its a larger picture of something the same size and material.

I basically wanted this guy http://www.toysnjoys.com/magirangers/se ... olzord.jpg

Repainted to look like in this picture.

I saw this page so I thought with the right chemicals and paints it could be done, but I'm not having much luck finding anyone who can do it.

Is what I'm asking not possible? Thanks.

I've repainted and repaired various vinyl kaiju toys before, and as you noticed it's not really much different than working with a vinyl kit. You should give it a try yourself -- if you don't like the way the paint job turns out, soak the figure in Pine Sol to strip the paint and try it again!

Are you sanding and then priming? If not, that will give the paint something to adhere to.

This should help. :)
