Frosting clear plastic.

Can anyone recommend a good product or method for frosting clear plastic or diffusing light through clear plastic?

6oo grit sandpaper works fine for me.

what about the uncontolled use of
super glue fumes?

works in my house all the time

(I like the sandpaper method mentioned above better though,
also not usually a planned event on my desk)

Hmmm sandpaper huh? It seems that even with 600 grit that it would show scratch-like patterns. Especially if you don't use varying motions.

No? It really comes out with a nice even diffused pattern? Or is there some technique that I need to know about before I scratch up this part?

Have you considered the coarsest grade in a fingernail buffing kit?

A nice even spray of clear flat should also help.

Naw, just wetsand it. I'd go with 1000 grit though, in a small figure eight pattern.

err...why wouldnt you use spray frosting from a rattle-can?

Ive used Rust-oleum's Frosted Glass many times and always looks great.

3m fine, medium grit scuffing pads is the trick i've used for years, then finish off with fine steel wool

I have found that fine sandpaper works ok(As mentioned above), but also, for some reason, spraying Zip-Kicker on clear styrene will mist it up.
Just an observation.
