Specific putty for resin kits?

Hello.

I'm working on a Starcraft's Akira and I've been using Tamiya and Squadron white putty. When I sand the putty, whole chunks of it comes right off and I have to re-putty. Just wondering if there is a specific putty for resin or if anyone else has come acros this problem.

First, you need to remember that the solvent-based putties won't "bite" into polyurethane resin like they do styrene. You're going to want to physically fill the hole and rely on adhesion.

Superglue is good, and can be extended with powders. Resin dust, baking soda etc.

Epoxy putty is great - it gives you a perfect finish when you're used to it. BUT remember you might need to rough up the surface or open up small holes into bigger holes. You won't need to sand once you get used to working iwht it.

For pinholes etc, I prefer Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Surfacer. You won't need to sand if you use alcohol on a cotton swab.
