Question about Micro Mark decal paper

Post by CaptainHawk1 »

I just got my 25 pack in the mail and I was reading the directions and it states that the bonder must be pplied immediately. This does not make sense to me as the ink won't even be dry yet from the printer (won't it run?). Should I do as it says and spray it immediately or wait an hour or so for it to dry?

Wait for the ink to dry. If you don't you will have ruined a perfectly good sheet of decal paper. I think the "immediately" is a poorly phrased way to say that if you don't clear-coat your artwork, the ink will run off when you put the paper in water...

What RP said.

And, depending on printer, it may take a day for the ink to dry.

If your printer allows you to adjust the ink volume, turn it down a notch or two. That's what I do with my old HP printer and Micro Mark paper; it helps to put down a thin layer of ink instead of a heavy puddle. Let it dry thoroughly for a day or two, then seal it.
