The endcap on the left is the "before" one" Notice how dull it looks? Well, that's not the original sheen but it's close I sanded away the typing or lettering on the side (the manufacturer code). Anyway, the other one is the "after" one. I used very, very fine sanding sticks including those you can get in the health and beauty aids section at the drug store (the kind for finishing fingernails) and some 12000 grit sanding sticks.
