Clear colors and effects

Post by bob242 »

I'm working on a figure model of Paul Atriedes of "Blue Velvet" fame (or "Showgirls" if you prefer since it's the most scifi thing I've ever seen) and want to do the "spice eyes" effect on him. I've never worked with clear paints before and wondered how well you think that would work. Possibly just a thinned blue? Ideas?

I think it'd work great. Depending on the kit.

I've seen some cool effects using chrome paint as a backer, makes for very luminescent eyes.

Or you could get freaky and use neon blue with a blue glow-in-the-dark over the top.

What scale is the kit?

1/6 if I had to take a guess. Pretty decent size and weathering will be fun! Can't be very clean on Dune.
