Mini BSG decals

Post by nurturer »

My mini BattleStar Galactica water slide decals, namely the GALACTICA names and black landing pad decals, literally cracked in the water, and broke apart when trying to slide them off. Although, the emplem slid off just fine.

Is there a liquid, solution, or any other way to keep this from happening??

Micro-Scale sells a liquid decal film that can be brushed on to a decal to make sure it stays together. Testors has a spray fixative. Or, you could just give it a couple of light coats of Krylon spray clear...

I would recommend Future spayed lightly over the decal. I would not recommend Krylon clear as it does not dry clear and will make the decal cloudy.

Fer instance, spray Future over clear plastic and you get crystal clear plastic. Spray Krylon clear over clear plastic you get cloudy, flat-coated plastic. This, of course, would translate into decals sticking out like sore thumbs.

I hope this helps.
