Removing Dull Cote...

It's a lacquer, so how do you do it... WIll regular paint thinner work or must I purchase lacquer remover?

Castrol Super Clean will remove it. Let the item soak in it. Also, Oven clean will do it as well.

Lacquer thinner will melt styrene and ABS.

Oh, dude.. this is the best friggin' tip I've ever gotten. I got the Super Clean (funny, dioesn't have the Castrol name on it anywhere) at Auto Zone, I put in on a cottonball, applied it to the affected area and voila, dullcote gone, silver Sharpie mess gone. Now I'm going to hit it with microbrushes and Q-tips for the details.
