mislabelled color?

I got a couple bottles of Testors Master Modeller's Acryl Duck Egg Blue, but it most definitely does not look blue. Its more of a creamy off white, and every other color i've gotten from the Acryl line is WYSIWYG. I'm just curious if this is normal for the testors Duck Egg Blue.

Sounds right to me. Duck Egg blue isn't really blue.

Er, I beg to differ. According to the MM chart Duck Egg blue is a pale blue green.

Did you make sure it's properly mixed?

I shook it until my arm started to ache because I did see some settling and separation but even still its not really anything other than an off white with a hint of grey. I'm planning to shoot a little onto a spare piece of styrene and see how it looks after it dries. but yeah, the color doesn't look anything like what I expected -and know- it should look like after its on the model. and I know others have used it and theirs looks completely different.

Some of the Testors Acryl paints have very different colors when "wet" vs dry. The color tag on the cap (if it has one) is the true color when dry.

If it doesn't have one, you just have to spray and wait for it to dry.

I agree w/ macfrank - some paints take a while to reach their true color. PollyScale (& Polly S) paints are notorious for it

What I've been doing is painting the caps of my bottles with what's inside - makes it easy to tell what's really in the bottle.

My duck egg blue is not really very blue. IT's alomost a pale grey color. One of the Wonderfest presenters, years ago - possibly Sternbach, can't recall - indicated manystarship filming model hulls were this color.

That's what I noticed too. Kind of a pale grey color.

Exactly. It's the blue color of a duck egg.
