Tamiya Polyester Putty?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Tamiya Polyester Putty?

Post by zysurge »

I saw this stuff mentioned in an article in this month's FSM. I'd never heard of it before, and am a recent convert to the gospel of Aves.

Has anyone here used it? What are the relative pros / cons vs Aves or other putties?

Thanks,
Eric

I use it sometimes. It is more like Bondo than Aves. But it has a much finer grain than Bondo, very smooth. And being a polyester putty, it stinks like southeast Texas. It cures quickly too, you can advance or retard the curing time depending on how much catalyst you mix in.
I speak of the pompatous of plastic.

Thanks!

I think I'll stick with Aves and red spot putty.
