Hi people,
I am new to the board, I have been making model kits for a fair while now and I have decided to do a scratchbuild of an Imperial Star Destroyer after seeing someone make a 48" one!!
So I've decided to do the same , now my only problem is I cannot locate any Plastruct or Styrene sheets big enough.
Does anybody know of any suppliers in the UK that will do customcut sizes???
Plastruct/Styrene sheets

EMA can be contacted on 01932 228228 for the Plastruct. They also do ABS and Styrene sheet.
I also use Kit Form Services a lot who stock most of the Evergreen range of styrene sheet and shapes.

Hi Red 5, and welcome to the board
Here is a pricing page for High Impact Polystyrene sheet from a company based in St. Albans that will also deliver and custom cut sheets. They also do ABS (oh, and here's a description of ABS from wiki).
To be honest I've never used the company in the link so I'm unsure if they have a Minimum Order Quantity in place, but a phone call wouldn't hurt. I should point out that the prices don't include VAT (spits on pavement!) and orders below £60 are slapped with a £12.50 delivery charge (sorry).
Alternatively, there is Bayplastics based in North Shields, Tyne & Wear. Unfortunately their server leaves a slimy trail behind it and you may find you need another shave before the page loads up
If you do choose one of the above for the large sheets, would you mind reporting back here with your experiences? It would be appreciated
Anyway, hope the above helps and best of luck, that's quite a project!

Stephen Webster Plastics are great but there is a minimum order which is way more than someone attempting their first scratchbuild is ever going to want.
ABS takes car paints better than styrene but needs a stronger solvent cement than the standard line of poly cements. I'd stick with styrene as it's slightly easier to work with.

There is no such word as "casted" or "recasted". The past tense of "cast" is still "cast". Only bisexually hermaphrodites add the "ed". - Churchill August 1942.
"Lose" = Mislay/Fail to win.
"Loose" = Slack/Not tight - John Lennon June 81
