Applying oil washes w/ acrylic paints

Post by redfinger »

I am sure this has been aswered here before but my search-fu doesnt seem to be wroking tonight...

My questions is thus, do you need to apply a coat of future ontop of your acrylics before oil washing? If you didnt apply this future coat, what kind of results would you get from the oil wash left behind? I have heard oil washes take several hours to dry so you have alot of workability w/ them, so are the pretty good for other weathering effects, like smoke streaks, rust stains, ect...

thanks guys!
