Another Question about Alclad
Ok, I have sprayed some alclad on this kit and noticed some high points. Looks like dust or specks or something like that. Now can I just lightly sand this area with… say 1500 or 2000 wet/dry and then spray over that area or do I have to strip it right down???

You should be fine. I've painted aluminum over exhaust to provide a fading effect, and it looked great.
Wet buffing should be OK, but you may lose some metallic sheen. You can but try - and let us know how it works!

Ok, the color is Pale Burnt Metal.
and now...
There are cracks! I used the Alclad black as the basecoat. It seems that the paint has dried at a different rate?

I can scratch the Burnt Metal off with my finger! So I think that stripping is the way to go.
So, what is the best way to strip Alclad?

Lacquer thinner I think will be the best way. Don't soak too long, it can be a bit harsh on styrene.
And I have painted their Exhaust color over styrene without any primer, with no problems.
