Frog Tape- Potentially a useful product?

I hate painting, and the part of painting I hate most is masking. As someone who usually ends up with a raggedy line no matter how sharp the X-Acto or how much I burnish the tape down, I'll clutch at a straw. With my glacial build rate I'm just not getting enough practice. So, I was intrigued when I read about this product in Popular Science. It's a masking tape with some kind of diaper gel in the adhesive that swells on contact with at least water based paint. Swells up, seals tight, leaves a crisp line. Sounds interesting to me. I haven't tried it yet, but there's a retailer a couple of miles from the house. More information at:

The dang website starts talking at you as soon as it loads, so turn down the speakers! If anyone has used this stuff, I'd like to hear how well it worked. I know people have been using plain old masking tape for a hundred years with stellar results, so I should practice, practice, practice.

I would say, at first glance, it sounds good. My only concerns would be the adhesive. First is it low-tack? Second, does it leave any residue that fouls petroleum-based paints?
