UHU adhesives

Post by Modelmaker »

This is maybe a not very used glue by modellers but I tried it several times and it's quite good. UHU is an old german brand specialized in multiple use adhesives, glue pens and tapes. It is absolutely non-toxic and recommended also for kids. The appearance is clear, water-transparent. In the US it is distributed by Saunders. Here's a link to the product:

What are your opinions? Did you ever use this brand? Any thoughts?

I often use this one:

It is solvent free and good for any type of material, including plastics and acrylics.

I use it all the time for paper and card models. Not for main assembly but to add stiff card reinforcement inside and even dribble UHU into hollow parts - like a cheap resin filler.

Used be able to buy a really BIG refil bottle - 500 ml or so - but they don't seem to have it in stores these days.

Incidentally I use the solvent based less "child friendly" version.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage
to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill today because they got on my nerves.

And help me to remember when I'm having a bad day and it seems that people are trying to wind me up, it takes 42 muscles to frown, 28 to smile
and only 4 to extend my arm and smack someone in the mouth!
