brass tubing?

Why do some people replace some parts on their kits with brass tubing?

That youtube video of the guy in Japan making the Fine Molds X-Wing replaces the wing guns with brass tubing. Are they inaccurate or something?

Stronger than styrene or resin, doesn't bend as easily, no seam lines to remove, straighter, near scale wall thickness, harder to break off, etc.

I replace all my aircraft pitot tubes with brass tubing or stainless hypo tubing.

Not to mention the nicer cleaner look to the model too.

Square brass tubing also makes excellent skeleton supports and 3-axis mounts for styrene scratchbuilds.
