Can resin be drilled?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Can resin be drilled?

Post by nanook177 »

Hello and I hope I'm not repeating another thread (I did look). Can resin be drilled? I have the alliance battlestar galactica and there are some large blobs of resin obstructing where the parts are supposed to be connected (and a blob obscuring one landing bay) and if I can drill them out or fix them some other way I would prefer it to exchanging the kit. Thanks!

Once the resin has hardened up - and being a kit you bought, I'd assume it is - it can be worked just like Styrene - drill, cut, sand, whatever

Just be careful with the dust you may kick up, it's bad for you: wear a mask (like a surgeon's mask) while you do it.
Sheer elegance in its simplicity.

Political unrest in dictatorships is rather like a round of rock-paper-scissors: The oposition goes on denouncing the regime on the papers, the regime censors the papers, rock-throwing ensues.

Sure can!

Resin is a very forgiving material. It is easily filled, sanded, cut or drilled.

If you mess up and happen to have a little resin laying around - just mix up, a small batch, pour into the hole, sand and *poof* good as new.
Ridged for her pleasure.
