Whaat is a good large-can spray finish?

Post by Callandor »

I am getting ready to add a clear coat to one of my models. I am going to use a spray can since I don't own an airbrush and brushing on a coating could mess up some of my weathering. I have used Testor clear coats in the past, but the cans are sooooooo small and I can sometimes go through a couple of cans depending on the size of the model. Is there a good brand of clear coats out there that come in a larger size can? I frequent Hobby Lobby for most of my supplies and I have seen various clear coaats in their paint section, but I am always wary of new products that I know nothing about.

I used to use the Testors clearcoats myself but you sure pay a premium for a small spray can. Lately I've started using Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic for gloss finishes and Matte Finish for flat coats. You really get a lot more for the money. Works great, dries fast, and won't yellow over time like lacquer will. It's available at most craft stores and hardware stores.
