Where is a good tutorial for preshading techniques?

Post by Callandor »

I have been dabling in weatheering to bring out some of the details in my models. One method I would like to explore is preshading the panel lines and detail. What are some good tutorials that I could reference. I aam particulaarly interested in wwhether this is a good method on models wheree the details are raised as opposed to recessed. Any help is much appreciated.

There are a bunch of different ways to preshade. If you search video sites for Max Watanabe, you should be able to find some video of his preshading techniques. Here are some scans from a Japanese modeling magazine.
