Hey all,
I was having a problem not getting enough amps to the McCashin. Everthing worked before final assembly, but the blinking nav lights were to dim to see after final assembly. I was talking with a friend and it got me thinking. I knew I had enough volts, but figured I was short on Amps.
My initial thought was to get a AC power supply, but I liked the freedom of being battery powered. That's when I found this Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_volt_battery
The good old Duracells I was using only pump out 565 mili-amps. I had added 2 LED's at the end of the build and think this pushed it over the edge. So I was stuck with very DIM nav lights. But looking at the same Wiki you can see a Lithium 9volt battery puts out 1200 mili-amps, more than double your standard Duracell. SO I went out and bought one of the Ultra-life batteries pictured and my problem was solved.

The battery was 12 bucks, but after spending 18 months on that kit and going though the trouble of wiring up a blinker circuit, the $12 was a drop in the bucket for instant gratification. And I didn't have to do anything to the kit, just changed the battery in the base!
All hail LITHIUM 9v batteries!!!
