Bursh painting with Model Master Acryl's

Has anyone had any success with brush painting Model Master Acryl's? I am seeing good coverage, but I am noticing I am still getting streaks. I've tried Vallejo's and they are pretty good with coverage and minimum streaking, but the color I need is part of the Model Master line that I currently have.

Your problem with the brush streaks may be the brush you're using as well as the thicknesss of the paint. To thin the paint just add a few drops of water. Also about 5-10 years ago a LHS had some brushes called microbrush or ultrabrush, which comes in a pack of 10 and they have 4 different types, a regular brush with a black handle and 3 different sized foam brushes each size with its own colored handle.
Any way the back handled brushes left no brush streaks when I painted with them. Hope that helps.

The latest FineScale Modeler has an article on airbrushing gloss acrylics. It suggests adding both a retarder and flow enhancer to help the paint dry slower as well as flow better. These would probably help with brushing acrylics as well.

The brands suggested are Liquitex Flow-Aid (flow enhancer) and Golden Acrylic Paint Retarder, but there are probably others as well.

have that article right next to the bench and I just picked up some new brushes from Michaels. I figured it was the quality of the brushes and I would need to thin out the paint. More often then not though, I am usually wrong on my assessment, so I figured it would be safer to ask on here.

Agree with the brush choice, and paint viscosity is another major factor - adding some drops of water might help a lot. Concerning brushes, I made good experience with synthetic fibres when painting with acrylics. But it's also about the paint application - do not expect a "one-stroke-and-it's-done" finish, rather create a thin, even layer with the slightly thinned paint and let it settle and dry. This yields - at least for me (and I also only use brushes) - the best results so far, and the prcedure might have to be repeated in two or even more layers when you use light tones like white or yellow.

Thank you all for the help. I put a couple of drops of thinner, it I can see how I had to build up in layers. Still thick in sopme spots since I was painting some rounded areas. As I stated earlier, I am planning to tone it down when I apply the dullcote and weathering (Tamiya Weathering set), so we shall see how that looks.
