Future floor wax beading up?

I'm not sure why this would happen. I've given the canopy of my Revell T-70 X-wing a good polish, and after that I dipped it in Future. A few seconds later, the Future started to bead up on the surface, and I'm not sure why. Any ideas?

Dnd you touch it with your fingers during polishing? Skin oil might have this effect.

When you say bead up, does it look like air bubbles or orange peel?

Or something else?

If its old future you might need to thin it with some water.

My first thought was maybe hi humidity but Marco's idea is probably most likely.

It's exactly the same thing that happens to water when it hits your windshield. It beaded up and shrunk to the center of the panel.

I didn't touch the "glass" part for that reason, actually. And before I dipped it I rubbed it thoroughly with a rag to make sure to get rid of any surface contaminants.

It is old Future, so I probably should thin it out with water and try again.

I now wonder if it may have had some release agent/film on it from the manufacturing process. Hopefully you rinsed the future off before it dried and you can scrub the part with some soap and water then try again.

Never had that issue......sounds like a silicon contamination.

What do you mean by "polish"? Some leave a fine trace of material that will deter paint.
