removing seams from ribbed parts?
Ok, how is it done short of removing the ribbed lines on the part itself?
There is no easy way. The better manufacturers, I've noticed, do thier best to hid the seam or make the part in such a way as it needs no filler.

Use as little glue as possible, but a liquid glue can actually make your job easier if you can squeeze a bit in the gap. Styrene is much easier to file in that kind of situation than a putty would be.
