Flouresant Lamps???????

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

JKL makes some.

I bought them at Fry's electronics. Even though these run off of 6-12 volt batteries, note the starting and output voltages, and be careful. Even house current is only 115-120 volts

They measure 1-3/4" x 3/4" x 5/8"h
Thd drives come rated for six and 12 volts and, depending on the rating, will drive one to two bulbs. (But only one 22mm(9")x3mm bulbs ever)

I used three drivers and 5 bulbs to light this model.

I've got some really small el wire dirvers. I removed them from the casing they came in which is mainly there to hold the batteries. It drives up to two feet of wire got them from neon trim (took a while to ship).

I can try and put some pics up of the driver board if you need to see just how large they are.

BTW that's a beautiful model Umi. Have to take a second look to realize it's a model and not somone's new living room.

I seem to remember black light at rodeo events. I wonder why.
