Gator Glue

Post by macfrank »

From this review Gator Glue can do everything but maybe walk on water. Does anyone have experience with this? The glue is fairly expensive ($6 with shipping for a 1.5oz bottle).

Hmmm.. I'd seen this, and wondered if it was just re-branded Gorilla Glue.

Gr'illa glue is a different color and material.

I'm trying to figure out why lifting the part off the floor would put much, if any, stress on the glue. Seems like a silly test.

And the fold over test sounds a bit fishy also.

and why would he wait overnight for CA to cure? Heck that's part of the advantage of CA is fast cure times.

Just playing devils advocate.

Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane adhesive. It expands and requires moisture to cure. It's my preferred glue for heavy woodworking jobs. It requires a porous surface for best operation, at least for one surface.

This is an acrylic polymer adhesive. As it dries, it cures. Essentially it seems to be Future with Acrylic media added. Or close enough for conversation.

CA has its uses, and this stuff might be useful, too.

I went ahead and ordered a bottle, and I just got it today. I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with CA, so 'm looking for an alternative.
