HELP: Wrinkled Decals

I am working on finishing an AMT Galileo Shuttlecraft. I started with the JT Graphics sheet and screwed it up royally so I resorted to applying the original 10 year-old decals. I used Micro-set as prep and Micro-sol to finish and now I have a crackled-pattern of wrinkles.

Any suggestions on how to correct this, or am I going to have to remove, re-coat and reorder from JTG?

How long ago did you put the decals down? In other words, they are supposed to wrinkle up, then settle down as they dry and cure, if you're using the Microsol. If they are dry and still wrinkled, and you have not sealed them with a gloss/flat coat, try re-applying some microsol and see if you can lay them down. DO NOT TOUCH THEM with a brush or fingers! You WILL tear them! Good luck, soldier!

They went on the day before yesterday. The wrinkles are in a crackled pattern and several reapplications of Micro-sol have done little to remedy the situation. I ordered a new set from JT Graphics so now I just have to remove the old ones and re applied the gloss cost.

You may be able to get away with this trick. Stick a wet washrag in the microwave and get it hot. Apply it to the decal to cause the adhesive to soften. Pull them up with tape. I've done this one time and it worked like a charm. I think Terry told me about it here.

Worked great. Decals should be here on Monday. Back to the drawing board.
