1/1000 PLE bussards

Hello All,

I figured I had to build at least one of my original run of 1/1000 E's as the Enterprise and light it. I have looked all over, and no one has the rotating bussards in stock. Does anyone know a retailer who might have it? Or can you point me to a circuit diagram somewhere?

I knew I missed one after going the DLM, Madman, and VOODOO routes!

I just recently got a set of those, VERY nice. I had one point to make though. the nacelles both rotate clockwise. After talking to Steve from Culttvman, reversing the leads J2/J4 on ONE of the boards will make it rotate in the opposite direction.

For less that fifty bucks, you can't go wrong!

Not so fast Gonzo I have an adjustable blinker going into production for your hull lights...The prototype hooks in well with Cults Ulitimate warp circuit. Small enough to fit into the primary hull. Steve may be stocking them as well.

Very cool Darph Bobo ! I was wondering about that myself as I bought as set of these myself some time back but hadn't tried them out yet. .
You mention J2/J4 but is there a diagram showing which leads need to be switched ?

J2 and J4 are labeled on the circuit board. You just have to be careful, as the wire used is a bit on the stiff side, so a light touch is recommended.

So are these leads wire-wrapped ?

So could the wire leads be snipped and switched then resoldered higher up on the wires rather than where the leads attach to the board ?
Perhaps I should just pull it out and check this out on the one I have rather than asking so many questions eh ?

I thought of doing the same thing at first, but it's easier to just de-solder the leads, swap them and re-solder them after.

Great ! I am really indebted to you for this information. I was at a loss what I'd do if both bussards were rotating clockwise. The port bussard should rotate counterclockwise and the starboard clockwise like an airplane propeller would. Now I can fix it !

or, if you accidentally fry the board and are stuck with only one, you could always make a destroyer!

Hopefully I won't need to go that route but thanks for the suggestion !
One more question...
Did you wear a static wrist band when working on the resoldering ? The instructions say to be careful of static and I've never worked much with circuit boards and chips before. I'm wondering if I shouldn't invest in a smaller soldering iron before I attempt this.

nah, I didn't bother with an anti-static band. The way I see it, these little beasties are going to be encased in plastic, which is an excellent source of static electricity. Just don't muck around with them on a dry winter's day!
