What is the whitest of white paints?

Post by doug »

Hello all,

I'm trying to match a already painted finish on a die cast car. The car has a white, very glossy finish, almost porcelain like, and I just can't find a white paint that's REALLY white to match it.

Any ideas on a truly pure white paint would be appreciated. I've already tried all of the Testors brands with no luck.

Thanks,

Doug

You probably are looking for the color "Titanium White". But most Die-Cast cars are painted with lacquers, not enamel or acrylic. I'd check out your local auto-body shop or Auto-Parts store. They sell those little touch-up bottles for the different manufacturer's paint codes. You should get a real close match with that.

I find the Tamiya flat white to be a good white. Overcoat with Future and buff if you want.
