Krylon

Post by azdave »

Hey,
I was at my Ace hardware store today and I saw some Krylon clear coat finish - non yellowing oil based. Can I or should I use this to seal the finished model? I used acrylics for my base and weathering and I used oils as my wash. Also, is 91% alcohol a good thinner for acrylics?
Thanks,
Dave

OK. But I use acrylic paint. I just want to use a spray can instead of a air brush. Is there anything else that we can use that is easy to find in a spray can?

Thanks

If I can talk back into airbrushing, follow this thread closely. I am telling you, you will never use a spraybomb product again for acrylic flats. I experimented for years before I locked into this one. It works for misting to lock pastels and as a final topcoat:

It's JW Etc's "Right Step" Matte Varnish. There are some other products mentioned in the thread, but I give the recipe and product name and a link to the product picture too. Use the recipe I give, and you will be fine.

I hope this helps.
