Thanks

Cut plastic sheet to shape, scribe appropriate lines, cover with Bare-Metal foil, paint with Tamiya clear blue and Smoke mixed about half-and-half, add dark wash in scribed lines? I've never done it, but that'd be my first try.

That's what I did a few years back. It looked OK. Good enough for my project.

I've used Evergreen scribed sheet ( the sidewalk pattern in HO scale ),
but its mainly for the look-its not particularly accurate.

You might ask in the Real space forum also since so many of those builds have Solar panels.

CD-RW and DVD-RW discs. When they poop out—and they will—it is possible to peel the shiny stuff from the plastic disc. You need a pretty strong adhesive tape to pull it away and an X-Acto knife to start the peeling, but it is a thing of beauty! It may come off in smallish bits, but we are scale modelers, aren't we?
Sheer elegance in its simplicity.
