I did a search, but couldn't find any answers.
I have a Tamiya 1/48 M10, and I'm to the point where I need to prime it. The thing is, the undercarriage is metal and the rest is styrene. The only hobby shop nearby is a Hobby Lobby, though I have (of course) a good variety of box stores. What sort of primer would be best suited to covering both? There is minimal putty work done, but not much. Just a seam or two.
After priming I plan to paint with acrylics, both through an airbrush and by hand for finer details.

Just about any type of auto primer will work, and it's MUCH cheaper than the hobby stuff. I get a 340g can for $4.99. That's the BIG can.
Of course, as always, test it on the plastic to make sure it's not too hot. You want a primer with a little more of a tooth (re: hot) to grip the metal, but not to hot as to melt the plastic. Many auto primers are a good mix, as they are designed to cover both metal and plastic bits on a car.
