AARGGH... crappy decal paper

Post by karim »

So I'm still working on my Starfighters contest build (trying to finish it by WF). I'm finally at the decaling stages...

I put on the first decal, and as I'm smoothing it down, it produces yellow gunky stuff from somewhere. Never seen this before, and I'm not sure what to do about it, short of stripping the whole paint job and starting over

Anybody ever seen this happen? Any advice?

Yes I have. I've had it be old paper coming off the bottom of the decal, & I've had the clear coat flake off.

With the clear coat flaking, I simply wiped the resulting gunk off. With the paper adhering to the decal i had to remove the entire decal and switch to something else.
